Pixie's Story...
Pixie | 6 months old | Altered Female | Adoption Fee $50 | Hold fee of $25 will hold her until she is ready to go (spay, microchip, shots, ready to go home 9/2).

This is Pixie! Pixie and her brother and sister were part of a group of several mothers and several litters who were abandoned when their owners moved out of their rental. They were discovered to be living under the back deck, all the mothers co-parenting each others' litters.

Having spent all of her life as an outdoor cat she is definitely cautious, but not horribly hand shy. She needs to feel safe and secure, and once she does she opens up and is quite loving. Her beautiful and unique cream and blue colored coat is super soft and while sometimes she may seem aloof, she really just wants you to earn her trust. Once that happens, look out - she'll blow you away with her personality.

Though shy, she is not skittish, and could likely adjust to a home with a cat-savvy dog who doesn't chase her. She has a very sweet heart and deserves lots of love!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Pixie, a Battle Ground American Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a American Shorthair for sale in Battle Ground, or seeking a American Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Battle Ground.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Battle Ground already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Battle Ground breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even American Shorthair breeders who help with American Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Battle Ground paves the way for another one to be saved.
