My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, My name This is Harley. He is a 13 year old salt & pepper Schnauzer.
He is not a mini – he weighs 35 pounds. And, for his age, the vet says he is pretty healthy! He does have a skin issue that he is being treated for, but it will be healed in no time. It shouldn’t reoccur, but if it does it is very manageable.
He was surrendered to the local shelter by his family because he didn’t like the little (grand) kids hugging him. For that reason he should probably live in a home where the kids are 10 or older – or with kids that know how to respect a senior dog!
He has been nothing but a gentleman in his foster home. He minds his manners and he is completely house broken. He gets along very well with the other dogs in the house, and even tries to play with them. He is ok with cats, but he tries to chase them (because the other dogs do)!
He is a gentle soul who LOVES to be petted and loved on by the adults. He walks great on a leash and loves car rides. Please don’t let Harley’s age stop you from considering him as a companion. He is such a sweet old guy!
Harley is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. He is heart worm negative and on preventative and on preventative for fleas. Harley is fostered by Andie in Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

His adoption fee is $225is Hogan.

As you can see in my pictures I’m quite a handsome guy. I am 11 years young
And weigh 18lbs. My life has been pretty normal up until a short time ago, when
something called Cancer turned my family, and my life upside down. My owner, unable to care for me anymore, cared so much about me they sought out a nice group of people to take me in.

I was a little confused those first couple of days, but a nice lady in the group took me to the doggie doctor where I received a full check up, and even had my teeth cleaned. She then whisked me off for a day at the spa. I was washed; clipped, fluffed…..you name it. But boy I felt good. Looked good too.

I am now living in my new foster home with 3 Schnauzer brothers and 2 Cats. I spend most of my day sun bathing in the windows or playing with my foster brothers. Evenings are spent with my foster family outside in the yard or sometimes hanging out on the couch.

I love when we hang out in the yard, because rolling in the grass is one of my most favorite things. I like it so much my foster Mom has to clap really loud to get me to come in sometimes…. Not because I don’t listen to her…. but because I can no longer hear her. You see a short time ago I started to lose my hearing; I use to be so scared of thunderstorm, fireworks, you name it. But now I no longer hear them.

Me and my foster Mom communicate just fine, all she has to do is clap her hands and I come running. The doggie doctor said, I still hear vibrations and loud noises. I do get startled from time to time if I’m approached from behind because I can’t hear you coming. For this reason my foster mom says I would do better in a home with no children as they are not always aware of small details like this.

I am a very loveable, loyal fellow and look after those that look after me. I am crate trained, walk great on a leash, utd on all shots, and neutered. If you think you might be the perfect fit, please fill out an application for me, Hogie
