Here's what the humans have to say about me:
URGENT! NEEDS NEW HOME SOON OR WILL END UP IN SHELTER!!
"Tchaikovsky" is a 1½-yo neutered male GSD who is very affectionate and playful, but shy with strangers. He is much more at ease with women than he is with men. He is good with kids, and presently lives with a 10-yo girl. Tchaikovsky is great with other dogs, large or small, and loves to play with other dogs he meets. He might be OK w/ cats; he has yet to meet one face-to-face, but he ignores them on walks.
Tchaikovsky is housetrained and is fine in the house when people are home. He has very good off-leash recall an in fact stays close to his owner’s side when he is off-leash. He loves to swim and go for hikes.
Tchaikovsky’s biggest issue is that he does not like to be left alone outside and has learned to jump the fence into the neighbor’s yard. Though he only does so to play w/ the neighbor’s dog, it has become a source of contention w/ both the neighbor and with the mother of Tchaikovsky’ owner, Stephanie. (Stephanie currently lives in her mother’s house.) Stephanie is presently keeping Tchaikovsky in a crate inside when she’s gone.
Stephanie has had Tchaikovsky since he was 4 mos old and is very attached to him. She is only seeking a new home for him because of the problems Tchaikovsky has created with his fence-jumping. Stephanie’s mom is really pressuring her to find a new home for Tchaikovsky, and Stephanie is very concerned that she may have to bring him to a shelter if I can not find a good home for him soon.
GSRSV has evaluated Tchaikovsky and is placing him as a "Program Dog." This means that GSRSV is placing Tchaikovsky through its adoption program while his owner continues to care for him. Tchaikovsky's adoption fee is $250. He is located in Sonoma.
