My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SANDY (10 year old spayed female)

Sweet Sandy is a 10 year old spayed female, a light blonde lady with the gentlest personality. Sandy loves nothing more than to cuddle by your side and be loved on. She came from a home with children and is extremely good with children of all ages and responds to their attention with a smile or by laying down in the hopes of more petting! She does not jump up on furniture but wants to be near you in the house. Sometimes Sandy is a bit slow to get up from laying down, but with more weight-loss and her new pain medication, this is improving. She can be left at home out of the crate with no damage to anything.

Outside Sandy loves to take walks and chase toys. Sandy gets excited to see other dogs and often barks, and may try to rush over to see them, but she is friendly and has not had any negative interactions. She is very kind to her foster-brother dog who is 7 years old, but younger, very high energy dogs may wear her patience out after too long. She is on the timid-side, and for example, although she loves food, if her brother leaves food in his dish from a feeding, she will not approach him or eat out of his dish, even when he has walked away!

Sandy gets nervous during thunderstorms, and will want to be right by your side. Loud, sudden noises may alarm her, but it’s not long before she is back to feeling normal, especially with a reassuring pat or rub! Other than when she sees another dog on a walk or at the fence, Sandy is not a barker and normally her snoring at bedtime is the only time you hear her!
