My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lauren is a gorgeous Coonhound and she is doing really well with her Maine foster family. She is with a small child and a dog smaller than her. She weighs 51 lbs and photos do not do her justice - her coloring is gorgeous! She is 5 years old and is friendly, active, and bays with joy. Lauren is an enthusiastic walking companion and loves playing with toys. Lauren is very agile and would likely be the star of an agility class. She sits on command and is so eager to please. She is housetrained, likes her crate, and is great with other dogs. She was in a southern foster home with 4 male dogs and she was the leader of the pack!

Lauren is too much a hound to live peacefully with cats; she chased them when tested with cats in the southern shelter environment. Lauren sleeps all night in her crate without a peep. She saw the beach for the first time and loved it.

Lauren has befriended her human foster brother. Since we didn't know her background at all, we had no idea if she was exposed to children but obviously she either lived with children or just is so innately gentle and tolerant.

If you have a family with kids who would love to teach Lauren new things, and if you want them both to tire each other out, then she just might be the grown-up girl you are looking for!

To apply to adopt this dog, please check out our application at www.luckypuprescue.org.

Please note: We do not have a physical location, but we are supported by a network of wonderful foster homes that are spread throughout New England. A dog will need to be visited by a prospective adopter in the foster home where they are feeling safe and comfortable.

Thank you for considering rescue! Lauren is with a foster family in southern Maine and is doing wonderfully while waiting for her forever family to find her!
