Lizzie's Story...
Lizzie is a beautiful and sweet 7-year-old sable, female sheltie sporting her summer haircut. This isn’t by choice, but because she was heavily matted the municipal shelter where she came from as a stray thought it best to shave her. She is feeling a little embarrassed about how she looks right now, as most girls would, but we tell her how beautiful she is every day and before long, because of being on a good quality food and receiving a lot of love and being treated like a queen in her foster home, she will be turning heads with her beautiful new hair coat very soon.
Lizzie is a great travel companion, gets along well with other dogs but cats are unknown. She prefers to curl up in your lap while you are reading a good book or watching TV. She is a snuggle bug and craves attention. Lizzie loves her daily walks and walks on leash like a pro.
Her health is great, weighs 23 pounds, has been spayed and all vaccinations are current. She is micro-chipped, heartworm negative and has been kept on preventative.
Lizzie is ready and anxiously awaiting her forever home and we will be reviewing her applications along with her foster mom Sheri. Please read our adoption requirements before submitting your application as this should answer any questions you may have about the adoption process.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lizzie, a Littleton Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Littleton, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog dog from a breeder in Littleton.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Littleton already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Littleton breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Littleton paves the way for another one to be saved.
