My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Adriana, and I’m two years old. As you can see, I am a tall, fair-haired girl. I am curious about everything, and I love to learn new things. I already know most of the basic commands like “come,” “heel,” “sit,” “down,” “stay,” “wait,” “leave it”—and, if I like you, I’ll “shake.” I also show lots of promise for learning more advanced tasks. I love to solve problems, and I love to use my nose. You should also know that I’m comfortable spending time in my crate, and I’m totally housebroken.

Going for long walks and runs is one of my favorite things to do, and I’ll romp and play off leash with you for as long as you can last. I’m not a retriever, so bringing a ball back to you over and over isn’t my thing, but I can’t resist running after whatever you throw. Really what I like best is just being with my people. I’ve got plenty of energy, and I’m polite at home and in public. I want to go wherever you go. If you have a big backyard, I’ll enjoy it while you’re out there with me. But when you go inside, I’ll want to go too. In fact, my foster family doesn’t even have a yard, and I get all the exercise I need from a couple of good walks each day. The most important thing to me is that I get to be around them when they’re at home.

Speaking of my foster family, they have two cats. They really scared me at first, but we’re learning to get along now. I’m looking forward to the day they stop swiping at me when I try to sniff them. I’m sure we’ll be play buddies sometime soon. I actually like most other animals. I’m definitely dominant, and I do have a prey drive. However, with proper introductions and supervision, I can learn to tolerate almost any animal and play really well with a few. Humans are even easier for me. I love children and find them super interesting. Adults are cool too! I will growl if someone seems to threaten me or corners me on the floor, but I’m just letting him or her know my limits. I’d do best in a home with an experienced, understanding owner and calm or well-behaved children who can be taught how to interact politely with me.

If I see you at a showcase, be sure to come and say, “Hello!” I’d be glad to meet you—and I might “shake.”
