Shy Eddy may not have had the most rewarding beginning. It is hard for him to trust, and consequently he can be very shy and scared. He has had to learn how to defend himself against the world and now needs someone to help him learn to trust again. He puts on a brave face at first, but that is not the real Eddy – he is actually terrified that someone might hurt him, so he keeps them at a distance. Eddy is quite the ladies man! Go ahead and play a little hard to get and he will be intrigued! He may even try to crawl into your lap to give you kisses! Guys arent nearly as much fun for this shy guy – he finds them to be rather intimidating and scary. Once he knows you, he is an amazing little friend! When he is comfortable he loves to chase toys, sniff things, and be like every other dog. Eddy would love to be in a nice mellow home where he can relax. Relaxing is almost as important as playing for this guys well being! He needs to know that he is safe and that he has a confident and quiet leader to help him see that the world isnt such a bad place and that people can be fun!If you are interested in adopting a CAWS pet, please fill out an online application at www.caws.org.

About Community Animal Welfare Society

About Our Rescue Group...

Founded in 1992 the Community Animal Welfare Society ( CAWS) is one of the oldest no-kill animal rescues in Utah. Over the last 20 years CAWS, our fosters and supporters have saved thousands of lives including over 600 last this year. As the largest foster home network in the state of Utah we focus on high risk pets in need of additional care and rehabilitation

Come Meet Our Pets...

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.

Our Adoption Process...

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.
