Maria's Story...
Hi ! my name is Maria and I am looking for a loving, forever home. I was rescued from a very unsafe beach for dogs in Puerto Rico. I am about 9 months old and 18 lbs. I get along great with kids, cats and other dogs :)). I do have alot of puppy energy so would love to go on hikes, long walks and any adventure you would like me to participate in. I am also spayed, fully vetted and vaccinated and microchipped. If you are interested in meeting me please email adoption@thesatoproject.com. Can't wait to meet you. Love and Kisses, Maria

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Maria, a Brooklyn Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog puppy was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog for sale in Brooklyn, or seeking a Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog puppy from a breeder in Brooklyn.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Brooklyn already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Brooklyn breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog breeders who help with Sheltie, Shetland Sheepdog rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Brooklyn paves the way for another one to be saved.
