Addy (Adoption Pending)'s Story...
Meet our spunky little girl, Addy! Addy is an approximately 6 month old dachshund from a local CT shelter. Addy loves to play, loves to cuddle and loves to be around her people. She gets along with dogs of all sizes, is wonderful with children and has a lot of love to give. This little girl has no idea she is so little, we wonder where she fits all that personality in such a tiny package! Addy does have what we are referring to as a “zig zag tail”. We don’t know what happened to her for it to break in her short life, but it is causing her no pain and adds to her quirky character! Addy is spayed, up to date on vaccines and ready to go home! If you are interested in Addy, please fill out an application on our site, www.ruffstarthappytails.org

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Addy (Adoption Pending), a Wethersfield Dachshund dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Dachshund for sale in Wethersfield, or seeking a Dachshund dog from a breeder in Wethersfield.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Wethersfield already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Wethersfield breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Dachshund breeders who help with Dachshund rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Wethersfield paves the way for another one to be saved.
