Max von Zippy's Story...
Little Max is quite a character. He will pretend to be shy, but as soon as you pick him up and start petting him, he turns into a bowl of mush and purrs loudly enough to wake the dead! His favorite thing in life is a toy mouse -- he fancies himself quite the hunter!

Our adoption fee for kittens is $85 and for cats over 1 yr old it is just $40. The fee includes the following vet work prior to adoption:
Test for FIV and feline leukemia
Age-appropriate vaccinations
Parasite control
Microchip to help ensure a safe return in the event your pet gets lost

A written adoption application is required. At least 48 hours is required to process application and applications are complete within 72 hours. Home visit prior to approval at our discretion. All kitten adoptions are to indoor only homes. We do our best to work with you to place an appropriate cat into an indoor/outdoor situation. Always searching for approved barn homes for feral and semi-feral cats (application required, adoption fee waived).

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Max von Zippy, a Rochester Domestic Mediumhair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Mediumhair for sale in Rochester, or seeking a Domestic Mediumhair kitten from a breeder in Rochester.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Rochester already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Rochester breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Mediumhair breeders who help with Domestic Mediumhair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Rochester paves the way for another one to be saved.
