Alice's Story...
Unfortunately for Alice, she found herself as part of an unwanted litter placed in a cardboard box adorned with a colorful, "Free Kittens" sign outside a local grocery store. She and her sisters and brother were saved from an uncertain future by a concerned staff member who scooped them up and brought them back to MHS. Although it is sad to think that some people treat unwanted litters as things to be gotten rid of rather than living beings to be cared for, it is an occurrence that is all to common. If you are ready to make the commitment for 15+ years, maybe you could give Alice the chance she has been waiting for, to be loved by a 'fur'ever family!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Alice, a Muskegon Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Muskegon, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Muskegon.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Muskegon already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Muskegon breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Muskegon paves the way for another one to be saved.
