Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Rusty strikes us as a little lost soul who’s trying to find his way in this big world. Rusty found himself given up by his previous owner due to having “too many animals”. Ironically, the reason he was given up was the reason he was faced with losing his life…our shelters are over crowded..there are “too many” animals coming in, and not enough being adopted. To make space for incoming animals, poor Rusty was scheduled to be euthanized. Thankfully RESCUE was there just in time to step in and spare his life.
Understandably so, Rusty was uncertain when coming into our care, but he is very quickly blossoming before our eyes! He is learning that arms are very useful to carry him around with and even better to cuddle, something he absolutely adores! He is learning that walks are pretty cool once you get that leash “thingy” figured out. He’s even working on a “strut”. Rusty adores dogs of all sizes too!
He needs a family who will help him continue to gain confidence, and exercise patience as he learns to navigate his new life. We truly believe that he is well on his way to becoming a happy go lucky boy! To learn more - www.azrescue.org.
Rusty weighed 7.2 pounds when we saved him. He was given up by his owners because they said they "had too many animals."
