My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Jersey is an adventurous grey and white girl that is part of a group of six siblings. They were dropped off at Chicago Animal Care and Control as tiny orphans and their chance of survival with no mom and no ability to care for themselves was very low. With limited options, staff there placed the kittens with one of the few nursing mothers who had room to care for them. Unfortunately their new momma Daisy had been there so long, she was about to become critical herself. When we placed a hold on Daisy and her two surviving biological kittens, we found out she actually had eight kittens. We took the whole new family into our rescue and started supplemental feedings for all eight kittens. Daisy was extremely thin and caring for all of them was wreaking havoc on her body. After a day in our care, two of Daisy's nipples abscessed and she needed emergency surgery. All of the kittens, including Jersey went into foster care to be bottle fed until Daisy recovered. Eventually everyone was reunited with Daisy and now all eight kittens and Daisy are thriving. Jersey would love to be adopted one of her siblings (pictured). An active girl with a sense of adventure and will need somebody to entertain her.
All of our kittens need to be adopted with a sibling or into a home with another young and playful cat because it is what's best for them behaviorally and socially. It's also what's best for the adopters!
The adoption fee of $125 or $200 as pair with another kitten (ask us, we have many!) includes spay/ neuter, virus testing (negative), age-appropriate vaccines, parasite treatment, and microchipping. If interested in this or any of our kittens, please email carfforanimals@gmail.com.
