My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Fergus. He is estimated to be 1-2 years old. We’re unsure of his breed. He’s some type of terrier mix. He’s 15 lbs. Fergus was tossed out on the street by his owners with severe demodex mange for which he is still undergoing treatment. He had actually chewed a chunk out of his leg! (Can you imagine being so miserable that you think you must
chew your skin off to get relief?) He was so critical that we
actually wondered if euthanasia was the most humane option for this lifeless little lump of open and bleeding sores. The mange is not contagious and we will cover all meds throughout his treatment. Fergus was extremely abused and
was terrified of humans when he came to us. His foster mom said said loves to cuddle and give kisses. He hasn't shown an ounce of aggression; not even when growled at by another dog. He simply retreats, undaunted. He loves to sleep in the bed and to play with toys. He is very playful & is very sweet! He loves belly rubs. His hair is finally growing in and it is so silky to the touch. He is dog & cat friendly & heartworm negative. He’s had multiple vet visits. He had a negative fecal. He’s up to date on shots, heartworm prevention and flea prevention. Fergus would prefer another young dog to play with as that’s his favorite activity. He LOVES other dogs. If we looked at him in the beginning he would just roll over and flinch waiting to be hit. You could tell the only time he ever felt human touch was to be beaten. But he's come a very long way in such a short time. He is fully housebroken and is located in New Orleans, but we will adopt to anywhere in the US.
