Lucy's Story...
Lucy needs a home! She's a 2 year old St. Bernard mix that was abandoned and brought to Friendship. This big baby loves everyone she meets and seems fine with other dogs. Lucy always wants to be where the action is and finds ways to get out of her cage. You'll find her at the front desk, wandering around the atrium or in the lunchroom. She's not really escaping, she hates her kennel and likes being around people. Give her a belly rub and she'll be your best friend forever. Stop by to find out more about lovable Lucy. Her history is not known, but she's hoping her future is bright.

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Lucy, a Elyria St. Bernard dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a St. Bernard for sale in Elyria, or seeking a St. Bernard dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even St. Bernard breeders who help with St. Bernard rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
