My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good With Kids: Unknown
Good With Other Dogs: Yes, but more interested in humans
Good With Cats: No
Housetrained: Yes
Crate Trained: Yes
Walks Nicely On A Leash: He’s got a very handsome prance!
Knows Basic Commands: Learning
Energy Level (Couch Potato, Moderate or High): Medium
Special Needs: Seasonal allergies

Arrival story: We found Cedar at a crowded, rural shelter. He was happy to get out of that noisy place and into a humans lap.

Approximate age / weight: 2 years old / 12 lbs.

Personality: Cedar is incredibly affectionate, has good house manners, is house-trained and crate-trained. He is move-in ready! Cedar quickly fell into his foster home routine and was thrilled to get some human attention! When Cedar arrived it was discovered the poor guy had whipworms. He has been treated and re-checked and worm free now! He will need another round of meds in October as a precaution. Cedar is good at the vet’s office and in the car.

Cedar after a calm intro, is good with other dogs (he enjoys rasslin' with his puppy foster sister) but where his heart is at is with his person. He LOVES to cuddle, sleep under covers, chew on a good bone and will do anything for a treat. Cedar likes to go for walks, watch the front window and hang out in the sun in the backyard. He is a total lap dog and likes to just be touching you whenever possible.

Forever home: Cedar would enjoy a quieter lifestyle with a special someone(s) who enjoy a good walk with a good snuggle afterwards. With great house manners and charming personality Cedar will make an excellent companion. With some seasonal allergies, Cedar requires Benedryl or Zyrtec to be able enjoy the oh so fabulous Michigan summers!

We do not have a facility; all of our dogs are fostered in private homes. To view our dogs, please check www.waggintailsdogrescue.org for the dates of our next adoption events. To meet a dog in person, please see our event calendar for the latest information. Arrangements can be made to meet our rescue dogs outside of Saturday adoption events after an approved application is submitted (the application does not imply an obligation by the applicant or by the rescue group).

Please be kind to our volunteers who have made rescue a second job that they do in their spare time after coming home from full-time jobs. E-mail inquiries will be answered much more quickly than phone inquiries; our phone number is a voice mailbox only.

Thank you for your support of rescue and your interest in a rescue dog!
