My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am King. I am looking for my forever kingdom where I can live happily ever after. I am a 4 year old Rat Terrier mix. My foster mom thinks I am quite noble looking. I am a sleek, 21 pound ,neutered male. I have a black mask around my eyes and distinctive brown spots above each eye. My eyes are gentle and kind. They look like liquid chocolate. If you are looking for a great companion, I am your man. I love to be with my people. I will rest my head in your lap, snuggle beside you on the couch and would much rather share your bed than sleep in my crate. I will whimper when I go in my crate but will settle down quickly if the whimpering doesn't make you change your mind. I bonded with my foster mom almost immediately. I follow her around like a puppy dog. It took me a bit longer to make up my mind about my foster dad. At first I found him noisy and scary but within hours I was sitting in his lap. A few of my favorite things are going for a walk (i do better on a harness...i like to pull), running around the backyard, and playing with plush squeaky toys. Belly rubs are the best!!! I like other dogs so a canine sibling would be A-okay with me. I am also good with dog savvy cats, meaning if they don't run, I don't chase. I am also good with children. I was very nice to my foster parent's 1year old grandchild. To sum it up, I am an absolutely fabulous, loyal companion and any family would be lucky to have me. No brag, just fact! If you can love me as much as I can love you, please fill out an application on the website www.brokentailrescue.org. I am up to date on all vaccinations, negative for Heartworm and Lyme disease and am quiet in the house. I need a refresher course on house training. When you live in a shelter it is okay to go to the bathroom inside so how was I to know my foster mom would want me to do my business outside. So okay, I get it now and I am trying hard to play by her rules. Please consider me. My foster mom says I am near perfect. I have so much love to give.

If you are interested in finding out more about King, please fill out an application. King is being fostered in Franklin.

The adoption fee is $350.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.King (of Hearts)
