Greta is a gentle soul who ended up in an animal shelter in Louisiana. She is so sweet that we just couldn't see her be put down so we took her into our rescue to try to find a forever home. She's been though a lot in her life and is so deserving of a great home to spend the rest of it! She gets along great with other dogs her size and would be the perfect addition to any family.
UPDATE: Poor Greta girl was recently rushed to the emergency vet after walking off-balance and falling over. By the time she was at the hospital she suffered through multiple seizures which spiked her temperature so high she had a heat stroke. After doing blood work, it appeared that she had a massive blood infection and was more than likely going to pass from it. We took her home to give her the last few days of her life something that who knows how long she had been without, a home. To everyone's surprise (including the vet!) some hefty antibiotics and fast food (we thought she was dying so we gave her whatever she wanted!) she has made a remarkable recovery, proving this senior girl has a lot of fight left in her. She's pretty old but we're hoping to find a kind person who is okay knowing her days are numbered and will spoil her for the last few years of her life. She's had a rough one and she deserves a loving home.
