My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Hana!
I’m a 6 year old border collie, and everyone who sees me says I must be purebred. I look a little different, though, maybe ‘cause I’m from Japan! I’m not sure how I got to Indiana, but I’m making the best of it. I’m a pretty happy-go-lucky dog. My foster mom says I am the perfect size for a smaller house or apartment. I am 18” tall at the shoulder, and weigh 33.5 lbs. I’m in great health, and very well behaved. I sport a thick, beautiful coat, although it gets a little hot in the summer! I need to be given plenty of opportunities to drink water and cool off when I’m playing a lot.
Speaking of play, wow, it’s great! I may look like a ball of fluff, but I can really move it if you throw a tennis ball or toy for me. I still think the giving it back to throw again part is a game, but I’m working on it. Cheese tastes a lot better than tennis balls, go figure!
Right now I live with two other dogs, and they are pretty nice. I get a little nervous when the little one growls at me − I just try to look the other way until she stops. I swear I’m not trying to take her bone!
I want nothing more out of life than to hang out with my person. If you are interested in obedience or agility, I’m game for that, too! I’m not afraid of anything, and I do well with children, cats and other dogs. My foster mom says I’m bomb-proof. All I need is a nice crate to sleep in at night, some bones to chew on, and lots of love! Even though I’m six, I don’t feel a year over two. That means I have many more years of love to give, but I don’t act like a puppy anymore. Won’t you please come meet me?
