Katie is a female Maltese/Yorkie mix approximately 3 years in age. She is itty bitty, teacup size, weighing only 5 pounds full grown. Katie has a soft, wavy, non-shedding white coat with shiny butterscotch highlighting. She currently has a shorter summer haircut and her coat will grow out long if allowed. Her perky tail curls up over her back and her round little body is very cuddly. Katie is a people dog all the way and absolutely adores being pampered and fussed over. She is a gentle, kind little girl with a sweet, affectionate temperament. Katie is great with everyone she meets and is cheery and social. She is more on the mellow side and an easy keeper. Katie loves to be held and carried and will be the first one in your lap if you sit down. Of course, she always asks first since she is too tiny to jump up on her own. She loves cozy round doggie beds and likes to feel safe and secure. Katie is good with other dogs her own size and although we haven't seen her play much yet, she knows how to appropriately meet other dogs. She has a brave little spirit and we just love how outgoing she is despite her diminutive size. She rides nicely in the car (she loves sitting up in the front seat in a carseat looking out the window) and she walks well on leash. Katie was brought in stray to a very high-volume/high-kill shelter where we rescued her. She is healthy and looking for her new forever home today!

Katie’s adoption donation is $425 (*TAX DEDUCTABLE). She has been SPAYED MICROCHIPPED, VACCINATED, DEWORMED, DEFLEAED and PROFESSIONALLY GROOMED. Also included is her collar with ID, harness, leash, folder with all of her records, a great PETCO coupon book, and a fun goodie bag with toys, etc.

Katie is being fostered by Pet Match Rescue Foster Volunteers, Phyllis and Richard and is ready for her forever home.

You may meet and apply to adopt Katie at our ADOPTION EVENT on SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20th from 12 Noon - 3:00 at PETCO in IRVINE located at 15333 Culver Dr., Irvine, CA 92604. (Our event is held INSIDE of the PETCO store.) adoptpetmatch@gmail.com

Why Adoption is a Great Option

KATIE, a Newport Beach Maltese/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier for sale in Newport Beach, or seeking a Maltese/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier dog from a breeder in Newport Beach.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Newport Beach already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Newport Beach breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier breeders who help with Maltese/Yorkie, Yorkshire Terrier rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Newport Beach paves the way for another one to be saved.
