My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hear ye, hear ye. The honorable dogs of Rover Rescue require your attention. Now that you are focused, let me introduce myself. My name is MEYER. Isn’t it crazy that my name means officer in charge of legal matters?? I am not a bailiff, but a 10 year old male Dachshund/ Corgi mix, weighing 12 pounds. If it wasn’t for the evidence of white in my dark coat, you would never guess my age. I have the energy level of a canine much younger. I am still very active and I LOVE to play. If I cannot find a willing person to play catch, I will take matters into my own paws. I can entertain myself by throwing a ball or toy up in the air and chase after it. I can attest that I get along with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion at my furever home. I am such an easy going guy; I even like those feline creatures. So I try not to judge, but some people just do not deserve to be keepers of awesome pets like me. Here, let me share my testimony. I was found as a stray dog in Southern Indiana with an eye injury. It is believed that this was not a result of an accident, but instead I was thrown from a car. I swear on a stack of Bibles, I am telling the truth. I would love to prosecute the responsible parties that stole the vision in my left eye. I could easily lock them in a cell and throw away the key. However, I have decided not to let my past define me. I am not going to let this incident break my spirit or my disability hamper my life. I am just so grateful that Rover Rescue came to my defense and I am living in a foster home that will make sure that no harm will come to me. You would think that a crime like that would make me leery of all people. I have proven just the opposite. I am very loving and extremely trusting. For example, my crate is located on top of a larger crate. When my foster mom opens the door, I will fly right out and expect to be caught. I just know that I will land into open, caring arms. I would make a great pet for any family as I get along with all ages. The official verdict is that I am housebroken, crate trained and walk great on a leash. Any objections you may have will quickly be overruled once you meet me MEYER. If you would like to learn more about MEYER, please contact Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee for MEYER is $200 and includes up to date vetting and a certificate for a free microchip. http://youtu.be/mmjfN36oJV4
