Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, folks! Let me introduce myself … but, please, look the other way as I do. I can be a bit shy at first.
I recently arrived from the kill shelter and, like many dogs who first land here, am in need of some TLC. I’m about 6-7 years old and short, but I’m a hefty 20+ lbs(!), so we’re going to have to work on taking some of this weight off … while we put my fur back on! I have some hair loss (due to fleas and/or allergies) on my back and tail. In fact, they are calling me a “little lion” because I only have a tuft of hair at the end of my long tail right now. I’m not worried, though. They tell me a proper diet and some medicated baths will make me both feel and look better soon and I’m already starting to.
Although I was a bit unsure about things at first, I am starting to feel more comfortable and confident and warm up to people. It would be great if I could get into foster care soon, though, and receive some dedicated attention and love. I need to be “tutored” (whatever that means; I think they mean another word) and am also heartworm positive, so I will need to go through treatments. I would do best in a home for that. Overall, I’m pretty low-key and food-motivated to learn whatever I still need to learn.
