My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

ROCKY is a 3 year old black neutered male Lab who weighs 65 pounds (needs to game some ~ ideal 72-75 lbs). He's very friendly and likes to be petted. He explores everything around him as a lot of it is new to him. After I sat on the chair in the play yard he had to try it as if it was good for me it must be good for him. He hasn't been around many toys nor had anyone play with him much but is willing to learn. One thing he picked up fast was that inside was better than being out in the hot humid weather! Rocky comes from the country and would not do well in a city environment or an apartment/condo/townhouse. He's approved for kids aged 10+.

Update (10/8): Rocky got a break from the kennel today and spent some time in the wonderful outdoors with a volunteer. The volunteer said: Rocky was awesome!! He is so sweet. He loved to snuggle and literally gives hugs! I was amazed at how well he listened. I had a great time with him. Rocky would definitely love the opportunity to run and stretch his legs but he enjoyed the walk today very much! He was very patient with me. Rocky is eagerly awaiting his forever family and can't understand why his sweet self is still waiting!!

Update (9/07): Rocky is building confidence and is enjoying running in and out and around the house! He loves to follow his foster from room to room.to go from outside to inside and from room to room. He is also quite snuggly and loves putting his head on his foster's lap. He's a good, good, good dog that will flourish with the right adopter who will take the time to work with him and love him.

Update (8/31): Rocky is the most loving affectionate dog his foster has EVER met. He's doing great, and already learning. He slept beautifully in the crate last night without a peep. He's tentative in the house, especially with the wood floors. His fosters put some runners down to encourage him a bit. He's learning of all the new things inside a house. Once inside the room it's like he tells himself "ok, it's safe in here". He walked great on the easy walk harness, however obviously has never been walked before. Towards the end of the walk he was walking more forward and less vertical. He has little to no interest in the resident female labs. He goes from person to person looking for pets and love, and would prefer to be in your lap.

This dog is available for adoption from Lab Rescue LRCP. The rescue has around 50 dogs available for adoption.
