found a new home!
Plenty of my friends are looking
for one too. Find a pet to adopt.
I am already neutered, up to date with shots, not good with kids, and good with cats.
We don't know too much about Merlin's background but we think that Merlin must have had some bad experiences with humans in his former life as this poor guy was absolutely terrified in his cage and initially wouldn't allow anybody to touch or approach him when rescued by 4Paws.
In his current foster home he needed a few weeks to realize that he is safe and that nobody is going to hurt him anymore. He slowly came out of his shell but then turned into an absolute sweet, loving, cuddly, little boy. He definitely made a 180 degree change! He greets you when you come home, he rubs up against your legs, and gives nose kisses. He loves to sit next to you and on your lap or your chest, and absolutely loves scratches behind his ears and belly rubs. If you dare to stop petting him, he softly pulls your hand with his paws to clarify that he is not done yet! Really cute! When feeling ignored he starts talking with you with his very cute chirping voice.
Merlin still gets scared when approached too quickly but we expect that to change, too, as in his foster home he already feels safe enough to stop, turn around, and check out the 'scary' situation after getting spooked. His curiosity already beats his fear.
He loves to scratch his claws on scratch cartons and scratch posts. One of his favorite hangouts are cat trees from which he likes to observe his surroundings.
We estimate Merlin to be approximately 2 years old; he is still a very playful young boy. He especially likes to chase and carry around all different kind of balls: crinkle balls, rubber balls, balls with a bell, without a bell, ..pretty much everything round and which can be chased and tossed around. And he very much is a fan of catnip toys.
In his foster home he had no contact with dogs, so we can not say how he would react to canine family members. He enjoyed however, playing and chasing around with his feline foster brother. He might play a little bit on the rougher side - but then again that might be just his reaction to the rough playing of his foster brother.
His forever home should be a quiet home with humans who understand that he needs a little bit of time to feel safe, comfortable, and at home again. Once he trusts you you will be rewarded with a very cuddly, playful, and attention seeking, and may we say, absolute gorgeous kitty.
Merlin has been neutered, tested negative for FIV & Feline Leukemia and is up to date on his vaccinations.
