Facts about Greyson

  • Hair: Short
It was Christmas eve 2015. Greysons foster Mom had just seen Greyson a few hours earlier doing fine. But when he was due for his dinner, she noticed his left eye was watering and irritated. When she looked closer, she realized one pupil was dilated far more than the other and became alarmed. Greyson needed to go to the emergency clinic asap because you must be very cautious with eye injuries.

At VSS, we found out Greyson had what they thought was a superficial ulceration of the cornea. He was sent home with medicine but unfortunately his eye did not get better and 2 days later his eye ruptured. Again, his foster mom rushed him to the emergency clinic. She then found out his eye could not be saved. He required what's known as an enucleation. So Greyson had to brave a third trip to a vet to have this procedure done a day later. He was nothing but an amazing patient, bearing all of the pain and stress of this situation in such a dignified manner.
He is now back home with his foster family, recovering and getting used to seeing the world through one eye. We would love to complete his story by finding Greyson a forever home with a family who will love and appreciate his kind gentle ways and love for laps.If you have any questions or would like to meet this pet, please email contact@stlpetrescue.com. About St. Louis Pet Rescue

About Our Rescue Group...

St. Louis Pet Rescue is a non-profit rescue group focusing on saving pets from local animal control facilities and other neglect situations.

We do not have a facility. All of the pets we rescue are in loving foster homes. Foster homes provide love, care training, and, if needed, rehabilitation to the pets. This also allows the pet to be more adjusted when they enter their forever home since they are used to a home environment (versus a kennel at the pound).
