My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee Applies ~ Email CAARescue@gmail.com
My name is Mila and I was rescued as a stray from the streets of Northern Quebec with two of my pups. If you can imagine it was quite a feat to get me and my two pups here when we were 1000+ km away!! I am a very good mama who did the best I could for my litter
I came to this lovely world of rescue where I finally get to live in a home – which is rather weird for me after living on the streets my whole life but I do truly love it! I am absolutely clean as I love to do my business outside like I have always done. The first two days in foster care I basically slept them away in my crate, I was just so happy to not have to fend for myself and stand on guard all night protecting my babies. They have both been adopted and I am so happy for them because I know they are protected, safe, happy and healthy.

I absolutely love my walks!!! If you love to calmly and gentle stroll together then I am your doggie! I am so very perfect on the leash and only want to walk beside you as we explore and you show me this whole new world to me. I will try to pick up some garbage off the street when you are not looking though … force of habit I guess! But I am getting really good at not doing that any more – my foster mummy has been working so very hard to teach me how to be a good canine citizen

While I have been around cats I was eyeballing them so the volunteers at CAA Rescue strongly believe I was deciding if they would make a good yummy afternoon snack so they have listed me as not cat friendly but that is only because they are pretty suspicious of me and feel that I am just buying my time for when no one is looking! I love my people and I love my snuggles and pets and attention, I often shadow my foster mummy around the house quietly always near to her & for my size I am quite stealthy as she will turn around to look for me wondering where I am and There I AM always right beside her waiting to give her every piece of love I have in me with all my body and soul!!
If you like to cook I am totally the Bestest Taste Tester Ever! I like to eat all kinds of things like carrots and broccoli and things like that so while you cook I will be happy to be your dog-o-vac in the kitchen, cleaning up whatever you may “accidentally” drop on the floor for me!

Ideally a home with no other dogs would be best for me or if there is another doggie there it should be a submissive one. I am not really one of those playful hyper dogs. I am calm and quiet and playing really isn’t my thing. Being with you is all I want. When you leave to go to work I will patiently sit and wait for your return. I am not destructive in the house, none of your belongings have any use for me unless of course you leave me unattended with your fridge door open then you can guarantee I will help myself – but then again, who wouldn’t?
I am looking for that someone special to love me for always, to be my rescue hero! For all of my life I have never had a family of my own! The only people I knew were the ones who chased me around with ATVs throwing rocks at me! Sometimes people would leave out garbage for me to rummage through but those times were few and far between. I have not known the love of too many people but everyone I meet now wonders if I realize just how gorgeous I am with my big ears and inquisitive head tilts, like I am trying desperately hard to understand all the beautiful words being said to me.
If you can be patient and kind with me because I am learning everything for the first time but learning so very fast, have a home with a back yard out of the city, love to walk and no kitties please email CAARescue@gmail.com Right NOW and ask them for an application for adoption so that we can meet and maybe I did travel this long lonely hard road my whole life to get to right here and right now to find you!!!
Breed: German Shepherd Husky Mix so perhaps a very unique Shepsky, they are one of a kind breed and very special just like Unicorns – only those who believe in them can see them and love them ;)
