Ellie Dee’s story epitomizes what rescue is all about. This beautiful 3 year old, 60 pound Boxer mix girl was watched from afar as her owner left her outside with no shelter and very little food and water on a consistent basis. This beautiful spirit of a dog was chained and starved almost to death. She came to a rescue lady’s attention who fought for her to be released to a rescue group and away from the horrible neglect and abuse. In the winter of 2013, before she was taken in to rescue, people watching her thought she had frozen to death. Animal control was called time and time again and could do nothing. Finally when she was down to weighing only 30 pounds (she is currently 60 pounds and healthy) the horrible owners let her go with concerned rescue people who have nursed her back to health. This girl is just looking for a home and family to give her love, who will give her the forever promise and commitment of their hearts and home. She is not good with farm animals and probably cats should be ruled out. She is friendly with most all other dogs but does have a sense of survival and we suspect if she is charged and challenged that she will defend herself.
