My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there. My name is Dana. I am about 1 year old and I weigh about 30 lbs.
I was found as a stray with my friend Darla... someone had dumped us out at the lake. We were found by a nice lady who comes out daily to walk. We were absolutely terrified out there. It took her quite a while to catch me but she definitely didn't want to leave either of us there, so she spent a little while with me and I eventually let her get me. Once she got both of us, she brought us here to the pound.
I am a shy little girl and I am having a very hard time adjusting to life here at the pound. I was not coming around in my kennel at all. Now they have brought me in here in to the office, where I even get to stay at night (in a crate, of course), but I am still having a difficult time coming around with all of the commotion and noise. I do like it way better in here. It is way more quiet in her, but still a little scary at times.
I spend about 90% of my time sleeping (or quietly observing everything that is going on around me) and the rest of my time is spent huddled against a wall or on the dog bed, depending on where I am left when I come in from pottying until I work up enough courage to get up and go back in my crate.
Don't get me wrong, I am coming around. I will now lift my head up and look at you sometimes instead of tucking it down against the wall or my cage. If you talk super nice to me, sometimes I will even sit up and wag my tail. The pound employees do not think I am feral, they feel that I am just a little bit unsocialized and just that scared of being here.
I seem to do just fine with the other dogs that come and go. If they pay me too much mind, sometimes I growl a little buddy only because it scares me when they won't leave me alone.
The pound believes that with plenty of love, time and patience, I will turn out to be a wonderful dog.
Please consider adopting me!

I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer.

PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER AUGUST 18, 2014.
HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS.

MY ADOPTION FEE IS $110 CASH, WHICH COVERS MY SPAY SURGERY (WHICH MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO ME LEAVING THE SHELTER), MY PARVO/DISTEMPER VACCINE, RABIES VACCINE, DEWORMING AND MY CURRENT OHIO DOG LICENSE WHICH WILL BE HONORED THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF OHIO.

THE POUND IS OPEN MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8 AM- 4 PM AND SATURDAY FROM 9 AM- 12 PM. WE ARE CLOSED SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS.
