Caramel's Story...
Posted 8/20/2014 We are five darling little kittens who ended up at the local shelter when we were just wee little babies at 6 weeks old. We were so cute, just sitting there and waiting for good luck to come our way, how could anyone pass us by. We were some of the lucky ones and CARE came to rescue us. Now we are 8 weeks old and ready to start the good life with some lucky adoptive families. My name is Rocky Road and my siblings are Caramel, Chocolate Chip, Butter Pecan, and Cookie Dough. As our names imply we are as sweet as the ice cream flavors (no calories included). I (Rocky Road) am outgoing, confident and silly and have the cutest little mustache. My brother Butter Pecan is a gray tuxedo and every bit as affectionate, while my sisters Caramel and Chocolate Chip are more calm, easygoing, and friendly. Cookie Dough is a silver tabby with little white paws, and is very laid back and oh-so-sweet. We love to sit on your lap and purr loudly when petted. We are super playful and entertaining and love to frolic around together. We would love to go to our forever homes together or with another kitty to play with. We are not quite sure about dogs but with the proper introductions we would probably be fine. We’re up to date on vaccines and combo tested. A best friend and a furever home would be the cherry on top! Does that sound sweet to you? Let’s meet and we can be best friends.

Please call CARE @ (804)-288-9797 or apply online and ask Kelsey all about us.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Caramel, a Richmond Domestic Shorthair kitten was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Domestic Shorthair for sale in Richmond, or seeking a Domestic Shorthair kitten from a breeder in Richmond.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Richmond already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Richmond breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Domestic Shorthair breeders who help with Domestic Shorthair rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Richmond paves the way for another one to be saved.
