Ella's Story...
Ella is just one of the black beauties we have waiting at the shelter for their forever homes. Black dog are very difficult to photograph in bright sunlight, and Ella is much prettier in person. But don't take my word for it--come and see for yourself! Ella is a Lab/whippet mix, much smaller than she appears in the pic, and is a speedster! She wasn't much interested in the tennis ball but ran round and round the dog park like a streak of black lightening. And, of course, she's friendly and cuddly when she slows down. Come see her!

Act quickly to adopt Ella. Pets at this Shelter may be held for only a short time.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Ella, a Jacksonville Whippet/Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Whippet/Labrador Retriever for sale in Jacksonville, or seeking a Whippet/Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Jacksonville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Jacksonville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Jacksonville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Whippet/Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Whippet/Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Jacksonville paves the way for another one to be saved.
