Heidi's Story...
Heidi is quite the charmer at 6 years of age. She is stressed in the Rescue because she isn't being held all the time, nor does she have a permanent lap to lay in. It is reported that Heidi has been trained by a local trainer so she knows her commands and she is nice on the leash. Her previous owner tells us she is good with other dogs and children, but her behavior with cats is unknown. She appears to have lots of energy and loves going for her walks. The only negative for this little girl is her owner says she is not house trained, although she has kept her kennel clean since she has been with us. If you would like to meet this beautiful girl, please stop by and spend some time with her. She will show you how to fall in love at first sight.

If you want to apply for Heidi click here. You can then email the application to the Meridian Valley Humane Society. Applications are now being accepted, and a visitation with the dog is encouraged. All applications will be considered and the adoption coordinator will call the person chosen to adopt the dog after the available date.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Heidi, a Meridian Maltese/Bichon Frise dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Maltese/Bichon Frise for sale in Meridian, or seeking a Maltese/Bichon Frise dog from a breeder in Meridian.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Meridian already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Meridian breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Maltese/Bichon Frise breeders who help with Maltese/Bichon Frise rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Meridian paves the way for another one to be saved.
