My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

FOSTER LOCATION: Nampa, ID

We’d like you all to meet Andy, an 8 year old purebred Bichon who has had a very rough last 2 years full of neglect; we’d like to fix that by finding him and his sister Dixie (also a purebred Bichon) a home of their very own.

You can stop reading right here if you aren’t interested in adopting 2 dogs at once; Andy and Dixie are a package deal and must be adopted together.

Andy is a lively boy who loves to be around people and has a zest for life. He is a happy go lucky boy who is happy to do whatever his people or his dog friends are up for. Now don’t take that to mean he is hyper; he’s not, just happy! He loves it when people make a fuss over him.

Andy is very good with other dogs and likes to run around the yard with the others chasing birds and squirrels and barking at anything and everything out the front windows. We have never had Andy around cats but we would guess he would chase them and bark at them like he does the animals in the yard.

Dixie and Andy really are the best of friends and spend most of their days sleeping by each other, playing in the yard and hanging out together. Andy sleeps in his crate at night (preferably with Dixie) and is quiet as a mouse. Andy is mostly housetrained, he has the occasional accident and just needs to be let out on a regular basis. Both Andy & Dixie use the dog door when the flap is pinned up, but still haven't figured out the flap down mode thoroughly. He knows to come to his name, sit and stay.

Both dogs LOVE regular walks and they are well leash trained. If you approach them with the leash, they both run up to you to be hooked up expecting something fun is in order. They love to ride in the car and make nice passengers.

If you are looking for a pair of companions that are easy going, not too much work and full of love then these 2 might just be for you. But be advised that Bichon’s must be groomed every 4-5 weeks; if not groomed on a regular basis then they will become matted, which in turn can become painful and makes it so they have to be shaved (this is why Dixie has such a short haircut)!

If you can offer Andy & Dixie a loving home with; a fenced yard and lots of love then please fill out an application at http://fuzzypawzrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application-2/

Andy is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. He also recently had a dental done and had about ½ of his teeth pulled.

There is a $100 adoption fee for Andy and a $100 adoption fee for Dixie. These fees will contribute towards the vet bill that Fuzzy Pawz Rescue paid for them
