My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET WYATT -

The newest member of our ODR, Inc. Puppy Crew coming to you at just 9 weeks old to help him find his Forever Family. WYATT is one cool little (3 lb) dude. He is cute as a button, loves to be loved and tough as a Tombstone lawman from the old west. In fact, we're pretty sure will be the one setting the law of the land and capturing the hearts of all in his new forever home and at his young age, WYATT could most likely learn to like cats and do well with older children (over 10 years of age). Do you think that might be you? Are you a doxie savvy family, ready to love and care for WYATT, the coolest little dude in the rescue and make him part of your family forever?

NOTE FROM ODR, INC. This little dude has already had a bit of a scare (aka scratch from a cat) and a visit to the doggie neurologist because of a curved spine (from the birthing process we think), but he is healing and doing well. For now, we're just encouraging him to walk (no swimming yet) and stay away from the feline persuasion. Due to the nature of his birth, we are watching him closely and recommending a doxie savvy family, with no stairs in the home and only older children, please. Finally, as you can see, WYATT is only 9 weeks old and too young to neuter at this time. His forever family will need to sign an agreement to have him neutered at 5.5 months.

OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):

Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.

WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:

All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.

Can you give WYATT a happy, carefree life again? If interested, please complete the adoption questionnaire at www.odr-inc.org and email it to: jrangan@comcast.net - the adoption committee will be in touch with you within 48 hours so please be patient as we are solely volunteer run.
