My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Due to a recent job loss and plans to sell her home, Martin is being rehomed. This is his current guardian writing:When I adopted Martin at the farmer's market in April, he had just been neutered and still had his stitches. He was so calm and lonesome looking that day I had the summer with him and he has been a real joy. His personality has come out and he is impish and incredibly sweet. I just took these pictures in the backyard. He is a neutered male, Cairn mix, two to three years old and in great health. He has gained weight and his coat is very lush and shiny with little if any hair shedding (he does not have a shedding fur coat but hair that grows and needs occasional clipping). I use a furminator comb on him weekly to pull out loose hair and it works really well. He smells sweet, no doggie odor or fishy breath. He will pass gas occasionally...(doesn't everybody?) He is up to date on all heartguard and is healthy. No skin problems have been noted. He will lay at your feet and beg for table food but he's perfectly fine with his own vittles. He walks perfectly on a leash and rides well in the car. He is crate trained and sleeps all night without disturbing me. He likes to chase birds and smaller animals including cats. He does well with my smaller dog ( I would consider them a package deal if someone would like to have two very compatible dogs.) He is more intimidated by larger dogs but I feel once he was introduced to one he would play well with any dog. I have been apprehensive to carry him to the doggie park though. He does not like to be in another room or outside away from his family and whines. He follows you from room to room and likes to be scratched while you sit on the toilet. He is not a barker unless there is a reason and will quiet if I tell him too. He needs a fence but he will come when called if he is off leash. He does not hike his leg inside. If I leave him in the bathroom and I don't get home in time to let him out he will use the walk-in shower as his toilet. He is very smart and with a little work could easily be trained for tricks. He has a stable, loving personality and is a calm dog. I think he would do very well with children over 8, older folks, anybody really I just have not had him around small children or in a busy household so I am not sure if he would be ok with a lot of activity but feel like he would adapt anywhere as he so wants to please and be part of a family of people or with other dogs his size.
