MAMA: Cat friendly and dog-friendly and an overall enthusiastic friendly dog, Mama came to us as a surrender with nothing but great reports on what a terrific dog she is and we have found all accounts to be true.
She has a funny and adorable play-style with other animals that some of us call "jazz-hands," while others say "don't shoot, I am friendly." What Mama likes to do when she is feeling playful is to jump up and swat her front paws in the air up by her ears which took some of the other dogs a little while to get used to, but she now has a ton of dog friends. If she had it her way, Mama would also have feline friends, but the cats here at the shelter have not invited her into their circle just yet!
Mama is not a big dog and is fairly small-boned with soft medium length fur. Her energy level is medium; She loves to play but also walks calmly on a leash and is quiet and sweet in her kennel. She loves all the volunteers and is not fearful of anything but is curious and amenable to new people and new situations. She would fit into most households since she does play with both male and female dogs so we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet is you wanted to add another dog to your family……or she would also be happy to be your one and only as she spends time quietly with a number of our older volunteers and can be a quiet and loving companion as an only pet.
If you like quirky and comical dogs who will make you smile everyday and have nothing but happiness to share then Mama is the white dog with black eye-patches that you need to meet.
