Bennie's Story...
UPDATE: 9/23 - Bennie had his cruciate surgery and he is doing well. Stay tuned for more updates! BACKGROUND: Hello friends. My name is Bennie and I am one huge love bug! I am just about 10 year old and I was found as a stray and brought to a shelter. Luckily the nice people of AGK said they could find me a forever home. Like I said, I am 10 years old but I have lots of energy for a senior. I get along well with other dogs, I am house trained and I LOVE TENNIS BALLS AND soft toys - they give me so much joy. I am storm phobic and hide in the bathroom when I hear thunder. It turns out I have a torn cruciate and I am going to UT Vet School for surgery soon so stay tuned.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Bennie, a Knoxville Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in Knoxville, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in Knoxville.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Knoxville already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Knoxville breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Knoxville paves the way for another one to be saved.
