CHATO's Story...
Chato is a VERY SWEET, WELL BEHAVED 2 year old, 56 pound BUNDLE OF LOVE. He sits so quietly in his cage at the shelter. When taken outside he walks nicely on a leash, does not pull. He should only be on a leash when outside as he can easily go over a fence. His family left him at the shelter on Aug. 20th . They said he is GOOD WITH KIDS. Chato will sit when you tell him to. He can be found in run 856 and his ID# is 568717. He is up to date on shots, now neutered, heartworm tested negative and will be microchipped when adopted.

When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, the names are oftentimes made up by volunteers.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

CHATO, a Marietta Shar Pei dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Shar Pei for sale in Marietta, or seeking a Shar Pei dog from a breeder in Marietta.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Marietta already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Marietta breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Shar Pei breeders who help with Shar Pei rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Marietta paves the way for another one to be saved.
