Duke's Story...
Hey there folks, it’s Duke. I’m less than 2 years old and weigh in at 48 pounds. I was wondering if anybody out there ever gets lonely? I know I do sometimes. I was lonely when I was wandering around and ended up at the Anniston shelter. It’s gotten a little better since there’s nice folks who have been taking care of me now, but I really have a strong desire for a BFF to come and take me home where we can really get to know each other. These people are saying that I’m sweet and well-behaved and deserve a second chance. I think that means I’d make a really good companion for somebody out there who sometimes gets lonely too. If you ever feel that way, just come in here and ask to see your new best buddy, Duke!

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Duke, a BIRMINGHAM Golden Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Golden Retriever for sale in BIRMINGHAM, or seeking a Golden Retriever dog from a breeder in BIRMINGHAM.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in BIRMINGHAM already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a BIRMINGHAM breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Golden Retriever breeders who help with Golden Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in BIRMINGHAM paves the way for another one to be saved.
