Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hi, my name is Maude! I am an 8 years young little girl. Don’t let my age fool you though. While I am mellow most of the time, I can be a little spunky and sometimes do run around. Because of where I came from, I am a little timid and shy. I don’t like loud noises at all and sometimes get startled when my foster parents or sisters reach down to pet me without me knowing, but I’ve come a long way and am getting much better at receiving so much attention!
Now, I love to be petted! I love it so much that if you stop, I’ll prod you with my nose until you can’t resist petting me some more. When I first came here, I didn’t know what a belly rub was, but I figured out fast that it is the greatest thing EVER!
Storms are scary though. I usually get up, pant and pace a little and need just a little comforting to settle down. I like little kids, but they move super fast and that kind of freaks me out but I do let them pet me. I really love older kids though. I like my foster beagle brother too. We don’t really play much but I like to follow him around and lay near him.
I am crate trained but I don’t really like going in. A little food usually persuades me. I only have to go in the crate when my foster family goes away. I sleep next to my foster parents’ bed every night and don’t wake up until they wake me up in the morning. I don’t really care to be on the furniture either. I would rather curl up at my people’s feet. The one thing I am working on is potty training. I have some great signs to let everyone know that I need to go, but sometimes they are busy and they miss them. I do know that I need to get to the backdoor and sometimes a little AROOO gets their attention.
I love to go on long walks I’m up to 2 miles now! I sniff and sniff and sniff on my walks so I am a little on the slow side. Sometimes I find such a good scent that I start barking while I’m walking and sniffing. It’s so great!
I’m a really good car rider too. Usually, they make me ride in the crate for my safety and while it’s a drag because I’d rather be next to them, I settle right in and relax. Sometimes, I get to ride outside the crate and will sit right on the floor next to my foster sisters. I really like when they let me climb into their lap so I can get a sniff out the window. That makes me so happy!
I hope to find my furever home soon. My foster mom says that I will make some family a great companion. My foster dad says he loves that I follow him through the house and wherever he stops I lie down at his feet. Please, please, please, consider adopting me. You won’t regret all the love I’ll bring to your family!
