Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sophie
5 year old Female, Blue Bicolor Ragdoll
What could be a nicer way to relax at the end of a busy day, or in the middle of a quiet day, than to sit on the living-room couch with a good book and a gorgeous Ragdoll cat? If this image appeals to you, then perhaps we should meet.
My name is Sophie, and I am a Bicolor Ragdoll, which means that I have gray on my face, ears, and tail, some gray shading on my body, and white paws. I have deep blue eyes that sparkle like glass, and soft fur that doesn’t tangle. (Like most Ragdolls, I should still be brushed every few days. Not only is brushing good for me, but I love it, especially if you are simultaneously telling me how much you love me.)
Of course, one of the main reasons Ragdolls are so popular is that many of us have a particularly affectionate temperament, and I am no exception. I love to be petted and to rub myself around your legs, and oh yes, I am one of those who will flop onto their backs for tummy rubs. I am on the small side for a Ragdoll girl, which means I will actually fit into your lap.
I haven’t told my foster mom much about my mysterious past, but I can say that I have been happy to be getting ready for the next phase of my life in a private home with a foster mom who is something of an expert on my breed. She has Ragdolls of her own and understands that we thrive only when we have a lot of quality time with our people. She promises to help me choose a family where someone will have that time to spend with me.
This is not to say that I am one of those always-in-your-face types. Like most Ragdolls, I also like to spend quite a bit of time at peace with myself, snuggled in my cat bed or tower, napping, or watching birds on the window sill.
I could probably learn to live with another gentle cat if the two of us had a large enough space to share, but honestly, I’d rather be an only pet. My ideal home would be with a calm single person, a couple, or a family with children old enough not to take advantage of my gentleness. No little ones, and certainly no one of that species-that-shall-not-be-named (you know, the ones that bark).
I am litterbox perfect, healthy, up to date on shots, and ready for a new start in life.
Sophie is fostered in Davis, CA
