Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Wesley is a sweet, gentle boy who loves more than anything to roll around and receive tummy rubs. He is an exceptional cuddler. He does well with children and loves the attention they give him. Wesley has a low energy level but still loves to play and wrestle with the resident dog in his foster home. Wesley does well with approaching strangers and dogs on walks and has has excellent greeting manners. However, he would do best in a home without cats. He is scent driven and will need some leash training to learn not to wander and pull. He is house trained if kept on a schedule, and he will whine to go outside if needed. He is left in a crate while his foster family is away or 4 to 6 hours a day right now. He likes to cuddle in his foster families' bed for a short period before he's asked to move to his own dog bed, where he sleeps the rest of the night. Despite Wesley's low energy level he is a puppy and can get rambunctious for short periods. Wesley is a super adorable and sweet dog who is adored by everyone who meets him!
Wesley is estimated to be about 8 months old and weighs about 50 pounds. Since we don't know at all what doggy genes are in the dogs make up (we don't know who mom and dad are!), we are just guessing on breed and size when grown.
All dogs are spayed or neutered and microchipped prior to adoption. They have all had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer, are treated for fleas, have a heartworm test if over 6 months old and are up to date on a heartworm preventative.
Please note that because we require a home visit at the time of adoption we can only place animals in homes within a 60 mile radius of Minneapolis. If you are interested in meeting this dog please fill out the pre-adoption application on our website at www.safehandsrescue.org under Adopt and we will get back to you to arrange a meeting in the foster home.
We are also having an adoption event at Fetch Delivers Warehouse, located at 783 Harding St. NE. Suite 150 Minneapolis, Minnesota, 55413 on Saturday, September 6th from 12-2pm. Please bring a copy of your pre-adoption application.
