Opie's Info...

I am already neutered, housetrained, up to date with shots, good with kids, and good with dogs.

Opie's Story...
Opie here! He's a happy go lucky 1.5 year old lab mix. Opie was adopted as a puppy from another rescue. The family works long hours and did not feel they had enough time for him. He's an active boy that needs more time outside and a fenced in yard. Opie is fully house and crate trained. He loved to play with 2 other big dogs that a relative had but has never been around cats. This nice fellow also loved living with a 4 year old but because of his energy and size kids over 6 years of age are recommended. Opie is very smart and learns commands quickly. This friendly guy is ready and waiting for his new home. How about yours?

If you have kids and/or another dog in your family and are interested in adopting a Friendship dog please bring them with you for a meet and greet. No appointment is necessary. Stop by anytime during regular business hours.

Why Adoption is a Great Option

Opie, a Elyria Labrador Retriever dog was adopted! Here's how you can benefit by looking at adoption as an option to buying a Labrador Retriever for sale in Elyria, or seeking a Labrador Retriever dog from a breeder in Elyria.

  1. Rescues and shelter volunteers in Elyria already know the personality and tendencies of their pets. This means they can match you with the right pet. That will makes it much easier transition to owning a pet for yourself and your new pet.
  2. On average adoption fees are much less than you'd pay a Elyria breeder, or pet store. Plus most often rescue pets have already been to the veterinarian for a check-up, had a round of vaccinations, and are spayed or neutered. That is a lot of savings!
  3. You will become a hero, and give a needy dog or cat a loving home. In fact, there are even Labrador Retriever breeders who help with Labrador Retriever rescue. One puppy or kitten adopted in Elyria paves the way for another one to be saved.
