Meet our sweet little Thelma who was recently released from the lab and is enjoying learning all her new firsts as a house dog. She gets along well with other dogs, with cats and with kids, and is crate-trained as well.

You may not know it, but you might have a BEAGLE to thank for your medicines! Beagles are used for safety testing of human and veterinary medicines for the same reasons that they make good pets; they're small, relatively easy to handle, and gentle-natured. Where does Happy Paws Rescue come into the picture? On a regular basis, research facilities have healthy beagles that they no longer need. That's when they release the beagles to us. We provide foster homes, veterinary care, socialization, and eventually, forever homes for these sweet dogs. It gives us and you a chance to give back to the beagles that have sacrificed for the advancement of science. Please email us if you're ready to be a giant hero in the eyes of a little dog!
