MEET CANDIE -
We know a little 23 month old, 14.5 lb, caramel colored, long hair tweenie Dachshund who is 'tough but sweet.' She is so 'fine, she can't be beat.' This little doxie has everything you desire and will set all your summer, fall, winter and spring suns on fire.' Has it happened yet? Are you singing to yourself...'I want CANDIE?' Once you see her, we're sure you will be shouting it. Little CANDIE has spent her short life so far with a loving family, but due to difficult circumstances, they are no longer able to care for her and have asked Oregon Dachshund Rescue, Inc. to help find her a new, loving, forever family, perhaps with older children (over age 10). This little sweetie loves to hang out with her family and also LOVES belly rubs. Are you the family for her? Do you think you'd look forward to loving CANDIE in the morning, noon and night?
OUR CRITERIA (aka The Fine Print):
Based on 30 years of experience with rescue doxies, we have pretty strict criteria. Do you work from home/stay at home/work part time? Have a securely fenced yard? We do not place same gender dogs in a home unless they were raised together, and children need to be 10 or older (some exceptions IF the dog is a puppy or the child has been raised with a doxie). We prefer non smokers and a home with no other small animals (ferrets, hamsters, etc) Cats are on a case by case basis depending on the dog. Remember, these are rescues; many were surrendered because of these issues.
WHAT YOU GET IN RETURN WITH YOUR LITTLE RESCUE:
All our dogs are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Pyrantyl, nails trimmed, and dental when needed. They'll come with a basket of goodies, food, toys and a custom made harness. The adoption fee is $395, sorry no exceptions, as this covers the cost to rescue them, vet them and take care of them while in our rescue. It also helps towards the care of other doxies that come with huge vet or dental bills or need extensive behavioral training.
