My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If only dogs could talk! Then we wouldn't have to guess what the first year and a half of Shirley's life may have held. But here's what Shirley's latest vet check revealed... this precious, little terrier is probably less than 2 years old, she weighs a solid 12 pounds, and she has tested negative for heartworm disease, or in layman's terms, Shirley is fit as a fiddle!
Now, here's what we've concluded by observing Shirley's initial behavior in foster care: Shirley's a total sweetheart and she appears to be housetrained, too!
This super-sweet girl is gentle, quiet, and affectionate, but not demanding. She's grateful for every bit of human attention that she's given. In other words, when it comes to people, Shirley is eagerly optimistic, though her expectations seem to be rather low.
We assume that she previously lived as an "only" dog. However, after a few short weeks in a foster home with lots of other dogs, Shirley is now comfortable with canine companionship. She even enjoys walking on leash along with the rest of her pack!
Shirley is earnest and adorable, and you couldn't find a dog more deserving of a second chance at happiness, so why not take a chance on Shirley, today! Just stop by the FOTA Adoption House and ask for Shirley, or text her foster mom at (225) 281-4638, for more information.
