Once in awhile a dog is surrendered to a shelter by its owner for truly unfortunate circumstances and it breaks everyone's heart: the owner's, the shelter director's and the dog's. That was Bailey's story, surrendered by a woman who loved her so deeply yet fell on hard times that forced her to give up Shiloh. Shiloh was so disoriented and confused at first -- no concept of why she suddenly went from the comfort of a loving home to the starkness of a shelter. With some nurturing and one-on-one time, Shiloh is finally beginning to have faith that life is going to be alright again. She is an awesome girl and we can't imagine her owner's pain of letting her go. Shiloh is very loving and has a quiet, calm personality and gets along so well with the other dogs, puppies, and all the volunteers including the children that come by to play with her and walk her. The really unusual thing about her is, she loves to make connections with people -- like she's trying to form words to tell you what she's thinking. It is so endearing and makes her just that much more special . . . and that much sadder that she is still in a shelter environment. Shiloh is about 4 years old, she weighs only about 30 pounds, and she is a very healthy girl. We have no idea what her true mix is, but if you glance her way, she is bound to break into that everpresent smile!!
