My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Southern California Dachshund Relief at: Dena@SCDR.org and not the rescue group connected to this page. The best (and preferred) method of contact for quick response is by way of e-mail. Please read the dogs’ entire bio before contacting rescue.

Max and Millie are littermates and are 3 years old. They are standard-sized dachshunds mixed with some Miniature Pinscher. Max weighs about 19 pounds, and Millie is about 16 pounds. These two sweet dogs are delightful. They love the yard, freely running around and exploring everything that moves or makes noise. They get along with the other small dogs in their foster home and often initiate play and games with their foster siblings. They are not barkers, not hyper, and when indoors, just want to be couch potatoes and hang out with their people.

Max and Millie are very comical at times. They love to dance on their hind feet for treats, and do that “sit up and beg thing,” because they know it is cute. They have sweet adoring eyes that say “please love me.” They have mastered the doggy door and they are 100% house trained. We have not seen them potty indoors even once. They are crate-trained and go willing into their crate for nighttime sleeping, or to enjoy a treat or chew toy.

They love to be held and cuddled. They both love car rides, cuddling under the blankies, and sunning themselves on the patio. They would love to sleep in the big bed with their people, but will happily accept a comfy crate in the master bedroom. They would be great for an active family who want to take their dogs everywhere with them. Is your home a two-story or split level? No problem, these two can go up and down stairs with ease as they are ever so slightly taller than the average dachshund.

Max and Millie are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, and they are micro-chipped. If you are interested in Max and Millie, please complete our online adoption application, and contact Dena at 562-694-6868 or email Dena@SCDR.org. A home check is also required. They are a bonded pair and we will not separate them.
