Here's what the humans have to say about me:
We're so glad that Nigel was able to stay safe as he wandered through the streets of rural Kansas as a stray. His safety became questionable when he was picked up and slated for euthanasia in an extremely overcrowded Kansas shelter. No way that Farfel's could let that happen to this Cockapoo with the great temperament! Arrangements were quickly made...and Nigel left the shelter just in the nick of time. This truly beautiful (in dire need of a bath and a serious haircut) 18 month old (or so) Cocker/Poodle mix left all the pain and misery of his previous life behind as he acclimated to the security of a home, great nutrition and lots of love & belly rubs! We found...to our delight...that Nigel is great and very engaging with people and other dogs. He especially enjoys his time with very gentle and nurturing humans...especially if it's about snuggling or leisurely walks. Since Nigel has been deprived of human attention for at least a part of his 12 - 18 months of life, he needs a bit of assurance that he's loved in a forever sort of way. He seemed to be unsure... but we notice that he gains confidence every day that he interacts with well-meaning and kind humans. We envision Nigel in a home with a canine sibling and guardians that choose to spend lots of time having fun with their dogs.
Nigel would be ecstatic to spend this quality time and would definitely form a fast and forever bond. He wants to please like none other...it almost seems like he's gathered the wisdom that guides him toward great behavior and very positive interaction with those he encounters. No stress in taking Nigel to social situations...he gets along so well with everyone...he's a pleasure to be with! A loving family that has the time and desire to form a close relationship with a pup that truly deserves it is our goal for our exceptional Nigel. It's unfortunate that we weren't given the opportunity to neuter Nigel in Kansas. Farfel's will be happy to cover the costs of his neuter, microchip and any outstanding vaccinations (although we believe he's fully vaccinated) upon his arrival in Denver.
Nigel has picked up the Poodle gene in his coat...he is a non-shedding, hypoallergenic guy and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cotton-soft coat healthy and matt-free.
Nigel will arrive on transport in Denver on or about 9/5. If interested in this sweet and exceptional companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.
