My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zippy is an incredibly sweet, cuddly and lovable, 11-year-old, 11-pound, male, Poodle looking for a loving guardian.

Poor Zippy was found wandering stray, without tags or micro-chip, emaciated, dirty, matted to the skin, and with such bad teeth that his whole mouth was infected.

Luckily, he was taken in by the Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control Rescue Group. Zippy has an enlarged heart and is almost blind. But, he’s living in a loving foster home where he gets along with all the other cats and dogs. He received the TLC and dental care he needed and he’s got the most delightfully happy disposition. His tail is always happily wagging and he has a smile on his face. Due to his poor eye sight, he can’t do stairs, but he lets anyone pick him up and carry him.

He is surprisingly energetic, wiggly and playful. But, he’s happy to snuggle with you on the couch to watch tv, or walk over and put his adorable head in your lap and he loves to be pet. It doesn’t appear that Zippy knows any formal commands. He is crate-trained and doing well with his housebreaking if he gets out every few hours.

Zippy is neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm-tested and micro-chipped. To meet and possibly adopt Zippy, please contact his foster mom Charlie at cpropsom@sbcglobal.net or 773-743-5760. His adoption fee of $200 benefits the rescued pets of Friends of Chicago Animal Care and Control.
